55 word fiction

1. Offering
His prayer for job answered, he went to temple to drop his offering of 100 rupees in the hundi.The temple was closed but lines of beggars filled the entrance. He could see hunger in their eyes. Without second thought he distributed the entire offering money to them. The temple bell tolled as if in approval.
2. Ethics
She lay on the bed staring at him in his clinic. She looked cute and soft with golden hair. As he examined her belly slowly with his lingering fingers, she fluttered her eyes. He ran his fingers again over her body He resisted the urge to possess her, as she jumped on the ground purring.
3. Lonely path
News papers were awash about recent molestation in that area. She still chose the desolate park at night being a short cut to her home. To her horror she saw a stalker walking behind her. She ran to the main gate and turned to see the new patrol policeman waving at her from the park
4. Violence
What started as banter turned violent. Though 15 feet away, she could hardly follow the quarrel between the two goons. Her heart missed a beat when one of them whipped a knife and plunged it deep in other’s abdomen. As red blood gushed, the attacker turned his gaze at her. She quickly shut the television.
5. Tell me again
It was their first date. They snuggled closer as beach wind was cold
“Can I ask you one thing? Do you get angry?” she asked
“No, my darling “he whispered into her ear
“Tell me again”
“I don’t get angry, sweetheart”
“Say it once more”
“You blockhead! Are you deaf or what?”he shouted in anger

Deception
Pamela was tossing in bed without sleep. Her husband Jack was speaking in his sleep “Bertha, not tonight. Stay away as I cannot move out. My wife is sick. Please understand”
Pamela could hardly suppress her smile as the TV blared a while ago that the hurricane Bertha had changed course and not hitting coast.

Clever

The boy opened the bottle lying by pond. Out came a big genie.
“Ask me a wish"
"Let me ask my mom."
“I cannot give time.”
"Okay, tell me how such a big form can be in the small bottle?”
"Simple like this”  the genie went in. Capping the bottle he ran to his mom.

Nevada Smith

The young boy was watching Clint Eastwood movie. He heard his mom’s scream and saw from head of stairs the door open and a man grabbing her.
 “Get lost this minute or you will drop dead” he shouted pointing the pistol
When the man escaped, his mom laughed hysterically at the boy with toy pistol.

My cup of tea

As my husband sipped the tea, I could see his happy face.
"Sheela none can match the evening tea you make, especially the ginger one. Your morning tea is not something to speak about. Why so?"
I decided to ask Nair of the tea shop behind my house to supply in the mornings too.

Same ilk

Once a fortnight I drive to the adjacent city, rent a room in a motel and bring some loitering young woman for the night.
She was good."What do you do for living?" I asked stupidly next morning.
"I come once a fortnight here from adjacent city and find a loitering jerk for making some money"

Hallucination

The woman by my side in park trembled in fear and pushing knife said "Watch out, my suspicious hubby is lunging forward to kill you”.
Someone seeing the body and me with bloodied knife in hand asked “Why kill him?".
“His wife prompted me”
“What wife? Where is she? He was an insane bachelor beggar.

1. Loyalty
As they were tying the knot at a temple, she asked “I have left my home behind forever. Will you be true and ever with me?”
”Why doubt me? Cheer up. Let us go to our hotel room after dinner and have fun” he said shutting the thought of his wife and child at home.

2. Talisman
He paid Rs.500 to the famous tantric for an unfailing talisman to attract woman. He came out and tried it on a young woman waiting at bus stop. Lo, she smiled at him and came near. He smiled back not seeing the talisman she also had in hand and trying on him. Talisman seemed working.

3. The will
He hated his dad who made his wayward son’s life miserable. He threw him out when he was into drugs and whores. He didn’t attend dad’s funeral or lawyer’s office. Why go and get disappointed, he thought. Lawyer read the secret will “……If my son is not present, entire wealth should go to charity…..”

4. The report card
The boy stood trembling with poor report card.
“Come near” his dad called. Mom’s face was grim.
Boy sobbed fearing worst punishment.
“Very poor show. It is a shame on you” dad said as he took the cane.
”Don’t cry. It is over. Do better next time” he smilingly said as he broke the cane

5. Pets
LKG admission in prestigious school was going on..
The four year old in pony tail and pinafore stood before Principal
“Name three pets” she was told
“Cat, dog and…” she lingered for a while before she said “daddy”.
All broke into laughter and the girl was admitted with parents beaming with smile

The dance
I was alone sipping beer in the restaurent.Band was on with people dancing
She walked towards me and asked ‘Care to dance?’
She was hot and danced with passion.’Meet me at 29, Carnaby road an hour later for some fun.’
‘This is 29 alright. No one lives here after the lady committed suicde ‘said watchman
Uncaring
Raju,you cannot send her away.She has been with you for years since her younger days
Sorry dad, she has become old and not meeting my expectations.I want an younger one to satisfy my needs.
You are cruelly insensitive as she is not protesting
